For using an antenna equipped with an SMA male connector with a video or RC transmitter/receiver equipped with an RPSMA female connector.
 
Note: Different web pages list the "gender" of SMA and RP-SMA connectors differently.  Please look closely at the pictures to determine if this fits the application.
